after going back to ac for the past two days, i decided to stay at home today.
well, to recount what happened, quite a number of us went back for the first day of orientation in our sec school uniforms. some teachers gave us funny looks while others simply couldn't tell us apart from the j1s - 'you all look so fresh!' haha
anyway the walk-in part for all the different clans was really good, i daresay maybe even better than ours last year. that's because they really put in the effort to come up with dances for the individual clans this year.
i pity the j1s this year for having to master such difficult mass dances in so few days! the songs are nice though. after attempting to learn the singles mass dance on wed and thurs, the part of the song 'push it, push it, to the limit, limit' is stuck in my head and i can't get it out.
i talked to some juniors. it's heartwarming to see my juniors who are ogls stepping up the plate and doing a great job. now my og kids know how we felt last year! it's always takes extra effort on the first day of school to rah-rah any og. after that it just gets better and better (: i'm sure they'll all have a lot of fun. i think orientation is actually the most fun when you're in the position of an ogl in your j2 year. in j1 when you first enter the school you have a certain level of wide-eyed innocence and need time to learn the ropes; from j3 onwards, you've already 'been there, done that.'
on wed, we had a mini-guitar gathering/dinner at crystal jade, then we went to cold rock for dessert. the company and food were both lovely. but we definitely missed the rest. hopefully we'll have a gathering of a larger number in february.
yesterday (thursday) i didn't intend to go the school again actually, but then i suddenly remembered that sconejuniors needed help to sell food as fundraising for funorama. so i went back at 10plus to help out. i think i went too early because i was the only j3 helping them for very, very long- for most of my time there. but i'm glad i went because i got to talk to some of them i haven't even had the opportunity to talk to before. i hope i get to go for a very belated sji of some sort before i leave for aussie. also i won't be around to help them for the intensive funorama prep so i shall do what i can for them before i go. funorama tickets anyone? :D
